Dr. Bethany Becker began her college education with a bachelor’s degree at BYU–Idaho followed by going to Saint Louis to become an Optometrist. She graduated in 2019 from University of Missouri–St. Louis College of Optometry with Beta Sigma Kappa honors and awards for contact lens fitting and pediatric care. Her clinical rotations included a contact lens practice in Swansea, IL, the Indian Health Hospital in Ada, OK, and the Norton Sound Hospital in Nome, AK. One of the many things she finds intriguing about Optometry is the balance between correcting people’s vision and treating ocular disease. She has a kind heart and loves caring for patients of all ages.
Even though she grew up in a military family, Dr. Becker was born in Alaska, and actually spent the largest cumulative portion of her childhood in Anchorage. She feels coming home to the beautiful state of Alaska is a dream come true. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and wandering farmer’s markets with her dog.
